Ben Schwefel's practice focuses on trusts and estates, including estate planning, trust administration, probate, conservatorships, and fiduciary litigation. Ben represents a broad range of clients, including high-net-worth individuals and families, trustees, beneficiaries (individuals and charities), entrepreneurs, business executives, and professional fiduciaries. He regularly works with his clients on advanced estate planning techniques that minimize income, gift, and estate tax consequences. He also advises clients in connection with the formation and operation of profit and not-for-profit business entities, including limited liability companies (LLCs), corporations, family limited partnerships (FLPs), private foundations, and public charities.
Prior to joining the Firm, Ben worked in the Trusts & Estates practice group of another mid-sized Orange County law firm focusing on sophisticated estate planning, business transactions, and asset protection. He is also an active member of the Young Lawyers Division of the Orange County Bar Association, the Elite OC, and the Orange County chapter of the USD Law Alumni Association. Ben earned his B.A. from UC San Diego and his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law.
Outside of the office, Ben is a self-proclaimed foodie and is always in search the perfect glass of red wine with his wife (and high-school sweetheart). He loves summer concerts at the Hollywood Bowl, is the proud owner of a basset hound, and is a regular volunteer with the Basset Hound Rescue of Southern California.
