Biography
Marin Bradshaw advises families and fiduciaries on inheritance matters where the stakes are high and often deeply personal. She works across estate planning, trust and estate administration, and disputes, giving her a practical perspective on how decisions made today will play out over time.
She is known for her ability to quickly understand complex family and financial dynamics and develop thoughtful, efficient paths forward. Clients rely on her judgment during difficult moments. She is deliberate, steady, and clear in her communication, ensuring clients understand their options and the implications of each decision.
Marin is a frequent speaker and writer on trusts and estates topics at both the local and national level.
Representative Matters
An owner of multiple healthcare entities with an estate exceeding $100 million had no estate plan in place to transfer her assets to her large extended family. Marin worked closely with her over several months to define her inheritance objectives and design a comprehensive plan. The strategy addressed tax efficiency, business succession, asset protection, and structured distributions across a broad family network.
After the sudden death of a long-time architect client, his surviving spouse was left to manage a complex $20 million estate involving multiple business entities, real properties, trusts, and other assets. With limited prior involvement in financial matters, she felt overwhelmed. Marin guided her through the administration process and developed a new estate plan aligned with her changed financial position.
A private professional fiduciary was appointed following the settlement of prolonged litigation involving a $15 million trust. Marin was retained to complete the administration while maintaining the settlement framework. She led efforts to resolve a dispute with a commercial tenant, negotiated the sale of trust-owned property, and managed communications with charitable beneficiaries, while addressing tax considerations to avoid unnecessary income and capital gains exposure.
A co-trustee transferred more than $500,000 from the trust to a company under his control. Marin led the litigation to obtain a judgment requiring the return of the assets, along with double damages under Probate Code section 859. She continued to advise on enforcement, including coordinating the sale of trust-owned commercial property to satisfy the judgment.
In addition to complex matters, Marin has advised hundreds of individuals and families on foundational estate planning and uncontested trust administrations. She works closely with clients to understand their priorities and guide decisions around family, assets, and long-term planning.
